The Atlanta Falcons have handed the offensive keys to Tua Tagovailoa, naming their starter for the 2026 season against the Pittsburgh Steelers.
Tua comes to Atlanta this offseason after spending the last six years with the Miami Dolphins, where everything was just short of a fumble. Tua will need to stay protected and out of concussion protocol. In Miami he finished 44-32 as a starter completing 68% of his passing for 18,166 yards and 120 total touchdowns.
Now Tua will have a fresh start with a huge opportunity. The Falcons have the weapons the Dolphins didn’t. After Beating out Micheal Penix Jr in the offseason Tua will have yet another shot at starting. Penix who started for the Falcons last year is still recovering from ACL injury. While at practice full time Tua had the upper hand.
In preseason Tua held his own with 10-13 passing for 117 yards but throwing now Touchdowns or interceptions and passing rating of 103.7 For the Falcons This isn’t just about a QB Change its about a Gamble. The Gamble on experience, the gamble on accuracy and Tuas ability to stay healthy.
The Falcons have a new unsettling trend of not having the same QB start consecutive seasons since 2020, now all eyes on Tua
