INGLEWOOD, Calif. — Matthew Stafford and Davante Adams gave the Los Angeles Rams exactly what they needed Monday night.

Stafford threw for 327 yards and four touchdowns, while Adams exploded for eight receptions, 195 yards and two touchdowns as the Rams rolled past the New York Giants 28-6 at SoFi Stadium.

The Rams controlled the game from the opening quarter, scoring touchdowns on four of their first five scoring drives. Adams got things started with a 31-yard touchdown reception late in the first quarter before adding an 11-yard touchdown in the third.

Adams’ 195 receiving yards were the most by any player in the NFL through the first two weeks of the season. His 64-yard reception in the second quarter also helped set up another Rams touchdown. (ESPN.com)

Stafford was sharp throughout the night, completing 22 of 31 passes. His four touchdown passes helped Los Angeles generate 481 total yards compared with just 182 for New York.

The Giants’ offense struggled after quarterback Jaxson Dart left early with a left knee injury. Jameis Winston took over and finished 11-of-27 for 111 yards with one interception. New York managed only two field goals and never found the end zone. (ESPN.com)

The Rams also welcomed back defensive tackle Aaron Donald, who recorded three tackles in his return to NFL action.

For Los Angeles, the victory was an important response after its Week 1 loss. The Rams improved to 1-1, while the Giants also moved to 1-1 after their opening-week victory.
