Damian Lillard added 28 points, six rebounds, and six assists, while Gary Trent Jr. contributed 20 points off the bench, including 13 in the first half. 

A pivotal moment occurred late in the second quarter when the Bucks, trailing 57-50, initiated a 21-6 run, shifting the game’s momentum. They extended their lead in the third quarter, reaching a 23-point advantage. Despite the Mavericks’ efforts to close the gap in the fourth quarter, they couldn’t overcome the Bucks’ dominance. 

The Mavericks’ frontcourt was depleted, with Anthony Davis, Dereck Lively II, and Daniel Gafford sidelined due to injuries. This shortage impacted their ability to match the Bucks’ physicality inside.
